"Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" is a film based on the novel by John le Carré. Although the film has been highly rated, I found it dull and bewildering. Especially for me and I believe people who haven't read the original novel, it is hard to follow the story of the film. I assume the original novel is a very complicated and hefty piece, it might be impossible to compress the whole story. I personally think the editing was really terrible...

Visually it is very beautiful and interesting. I like the smoky but stylish atmosphere.

ジョン・ル・カル著の小説『ティンカー、テイラー、ソルジャー、スパイ』を映画化した作品。（邦題は『裏切りのサーカス』というらしい。ちょっとださいが。）

かなり評価が高いので楽しみして見にいったが、正直なところ、いまいちだった。独特の雰囲気があり、ちょっとおしゃれな映像はとても気に入ったし、演技は良かったのだが、肝心の物語展開が複雑な上に、歯切れが悪いテンポで、見ていてあまりのめり込むということがなかった。特に、編集がうまくなく、見ていて気になることがいろいろあったり。時間内に収めるために、無理やり無駄な部分をそぎ落とそうとがんばって、話をまとめてしまったような感じである。（誰も気にしなかったのだろうか？それともそんな時間がなかったのか？しかし結構初歩的なミスをしているところもあるのだが。。。）
